About the Company:

Panelto Foods is an Irish Food company based in Longford and establisthed in 2004. Panelto produces a range of high quality contemporary sandwich breads for the UK and Irish, retail and food service markets, from a highly automated world class bakery.  Panelto has recently gone through a major expansion doubling the size of the existing factory and workforce.

About the role:

This is an exciting role ideal for a final year graduate student who would like to start their career in a technical function within the food industry.  The role will help you gain exposure to the technical side of the food industry by implementing regulatory standards and specification requirements. 

RAbout the Role:

  • Verification and completion of bakery specifications in documenting recipes, processes and raw material supply.  

  • Understand, interpreting and recording quality data according to existing documents and procedures.  

  • Periodically organising product samples for approval, as well as analytical and organoleptic testing.

  • Compile data to ensure the quality of product in development meets our customer’s expectations. 

The individual would be working in a dynamic team and will be nurtured through their first role and give the individual the opportunity to develop their career within the food manufacturing industry.

 

About You:

The ideal person will possess:

  • A relevant Foods Science, Baking or Technical Qualification or in the final year.

  • A good level of knowledge of food legislation and supply industry requirements.  

  • Knowledge and understanding of BRC Standards and Customer codes of practice is desirable.

  • Production Process knowledge in a Baking/Food environment is an advantage.

  • Experience with Computer programmes such as Word, Power Point, Outlook, Excel, etc. 

  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn is key.

Qualifications and / or Experience: :

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in an NPD or process role within the food industry. 

  • Ability to develop and maintain working relationships and be confident in working closely with a team and customers. 

  • Attention to detail is key within this role, supporting the team and the company as a whole. IT knowledge in Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.

  • Some retail understanding of the Irish and UK bakery markets an advantage.  Ability to multi-task and deal with pressure.
