Panelto Foods is a privately owned Irish company based in Longford and established in 2004. We produce a range of high quality contemporary sandwich breads for the UK, Irish retail and food service markets, from a highly automated world class bakery.
Role of Senior Bakery Technologist:
We are searching for a Senior Bakery Technologist who will be responsible for the process performance of the plant in terms of product quality & efficiency.
Role and Responsiblities:

Analyse and evaluate the process performance of the plant in terms of product quality, process efficiency and reliability
-
Develop and implement manufacturing standards, improvements and savings for existing products and processes
-
Ensure ‘Best in Class’ approach to quality of products via thorough understanding and knowledge of production formulation, with scale up to delivery

Implement new products into the plant in partnership with Sales and NPD
-
Deliver a consistent ‘value add’ approach to the implementation of new products, in tandem with NPD
-
Develop a capability as the flour, dough, baking and manufacturing processing expert for the plant

Deliver a consistent flour and dough quality for the products made in the plant
-
Fulfilling the role as a trouble shooter in collaboration with supervisors, engineers, operators and other support disciplines with the aim to identify the root cause of bakery problems and to develop preventive solutions

Managing and supporting internal production trials

Provide training on processing, baking technologies and process improvements to supervisors, engineers, operators and other relevant staff members
Requirements:
-
University or Institute of Technology degree in a technical, engineering or food technology field

Industrial bakery experience preferred and/or with a minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience preferably within the food sector

Experience in/or knowledge of Lean, TPM or six-sigma is a distinct advantage
-
Experience with project and people management is an advantage

Excellent knowledge of the English language both written and spoken

Highly developed technical and technological insight and ability to drive change

Excellent analytical skills, innovative mind set and a high energy level

Proficient in Excel, Word and Powerpoint

Proficient at communicating and influencing across different levels within the organisation
